Fish Eagle Café, based at Crocworld Conservation Centre in Scottburgh, has just launched its delectable gourmet burger selection in time for the upcoming holiday season. The gourmet burger range adds to the already exciting menu offered by this family-friendly café.
“The Fish Eagle Café has become one of the KZN South Coast’s preferred eateries with its fantastic cuisine and exquisite setting boasting coastal forest and ocean views,” explained Fish Eagle Café’s Executive Chef and Manager, Morne van Zyl. “One of the most popular menu items are the incredible burgers, and to entrench ourselves as the region’s top ‘burger joint’, we are launching seven new delicious gourmet burgers to the menu!”
These delicious burgers are the creation of Chef Morne himself, a renowned chef with some three decades’ experience within the food industry. His culinary skills have seen him cater for a number of luminaries, including former presidents FW de Klerk, Thabo Mbeki and Nelson Mandela, as well as taking on the food responsibilities for the 2010 enthronement of Kgosi Molotlegi of the Royal Bafokeng Nation – attended by some 11 000 delegates and dignitaries. Just recently, Chef Morne was responsible for catering the royal wedding in Matatiele where King Letsie the Third, King of Lesotho, and Queen Masenate Mohato Seeiso, were the guests of honour.
“As Aristotle once said, ‘The whole is greater than the sum of its parts’, and this is certainly the case with the esteemed burger! A burger, though reliant on quality beef and buns, is undoubtedly double as good when a series of topping combinations come together as one.”
Using only the freshest ingredients, visitors to the Fish Eagle Café can choose from these seven gourmet burgers options:
1. Biltong, Sweet Chilli and Blue Cheese Burger
2. Salami and Mozzarella with Blue Cheese and Jalapeno Burger
3. Camembert, Avo and Cranberry Burger
4. Rare Rump, Onion jam and Basil pesto Burger
5. Cream Cheese, crispy Bacon and Sweet Chilli Burger
6. Spinach, Feta, Olive tapenade and Tzatziki Burger
7. Rump schnitzel and Smokey Cheddar Burger
