David Allan South Coast Birding Talk – 14 September

Cdev2 (16 of 52)Birds and birding along the subtropical southern KwaZulu-Natal Coast – a wealth of colourful forest birds . . . and more!

The Southern KwaZulu-Natal coastal region offers some of the finest birding in South Africa. The lush, subtropical conditions are particularly ideal for forest birds, some of which are among the most spectacular and sought-after species in the subcontinent. This bountiful area also boasts several world-class birding destinations in the form of wild and sprawling nature reserves, all with excellent walking trails along which the birding riches can be sampled. But there is also a feast of other habitats and their birds away from the forests, including Valley bushveld, grassland, estuaries and the actual coastline itself. This talk will take you on an illustrated ‘armchair’ tour of the best birds and birding spots along the South Coast. Hopefully you’ll be inspired to explore these riches yourself, with no better place to start than right here at Crocworld Conservation Centre!
